Make sure that valuable objects such as laptops and digital cameras are not left in plain sight during the day. We also recommend not leaving these possessions unattended in the spaces during the evening and night.
Fire Safety Requirements
Textiles, paper, cardboard and plastics
Textiles, paper, cardboard and plastic are combustible materials and should be impregnated with a fire retardant. At fire safety inspections, you will have to hand over a test sample of the material; in the case of doubt, the fire brigade will test this through a fire test.
Wooden constructions and stacked wood
Wooden constructions and wood that has been stacked can be hazardous as a fire source. Wood must be impregnated with a fire-retardant and regularly moistened. It must furthermore be ensured that no litter can pile up between the wooden materials.
Polystyrene blocks, polystyrene granules, foam rubber and agricultural plastics
These materials are highly combustible and emit chemical gasses, and therefore not allowed to be used. Exceptions are those materials for which a certificate of flammability can be produced.
Volatile liquids and gasses
The storage of volatile substances and gasses at your lot is forbidden.
Fire reels and fire extinguishers
Take note of the locations of fire reels and fire extinguishers. In the event of a fire, you have to use these and immediately call the production management in the Klokgebouw. Fire reels and fire extinguishers present at your lot must always be kept free.
Should the fire department reject your stand/lot at their inspection, note that this falls under your own responsibility and not under the responsibility of the DDW organisation. You will have to remove the materials concerned from the building.
